Code update

Code was just updated. In particular, this update brings the alpha version (first release) of the crossposter tool. This release also brings a change to the way we do adult content to bring it more in line with our goals for the site. More information on the adult content change.

Please keep in mind that this is Closed Beta. As such, we're iterating quickly, and releasing early. There will be bugs, that's a promise.

Please let us know what issues you find so we can fix them up!

Adding a new account was easy and intuitive, I like how you can set defaults then manage them as you post.

Crossposting picked up title, tags, bolded text, numbered lists, usernames common to LJ+DW and URLs.

Didn't notify on success - agree option to turn off or notify on fail would be good.

Broke LJ-cut ("/lj-cut" jumped up a few lines) but I think this is an LJ-rich text editor problem because it does it to me on LJ anyway if "lj user=x" is present.

OK, I had a duplicate entry created on DW when the LJ 'clone' post was commented on.

1. Post to DW and crosspost to LJ
2. Receive a comment on LJ post
3. Look at http://samvara.dreamwidth.org/ and note duplicate entry - one with the comment on it, one without
4. Delete DW entry with zero comments
5. Observe LJ post is now deleted as well
6. Laugh
7. Edit + Save DW post
8. Entry reposted to LJ (raw, without comment attached)

1. Attempt to reproduce (see http://samvara.dreamwidth.org/386028.html and http://black-samvara.livejournal.com/424777.html). No duplicate as yet - is there some sort of scheduled job running that tries to synch them up?

I am really freakin impressed if the plan is to keep the cross-posted entries in synch.

It sounds like you had the importer running between the time the entry was first posted and the time you noticed the duplicate entry; the same thing happened to me. It's not automatic; I plan to keep running the importer every few weeks to pick up stray comments.

I think you're right!

I also think importing is going to make more sense than cross-posting at this point for me.
