Code update

Code was just updated. In particular, this update brings the alpha version (first release) of the crossposter tool. This release also brings a change to the way we do adult content to bring it more in line with our goals for the site. More information on the adult content change.

Please keep in mind that this is Closed Beta. As such, we're iterating quickly, and releasing early. There will be bugs, that's a promise.

Please let us know what issues you find so we can fix them up!

Clicking on the button on http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/settings/?cat=othersites to add an account results in no reaction.

I'm on Internet Explorer (at work) if that's relevant information. ;P

Same issue here at work, bypassing the proxy that I normally use as DW is not blocked here (yet). IE7, Windows XP SP2.

Same issue here, with the same configuration. Going directly to http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/externalaccount.bml works.

Yep, but my crosspost failed. :(

I had the same problem, couldn't configure my accounts (using Opera 9.62, Vista not sure which one) but your link worked. Thank you for sharing!

Hm. It did work for me. It opens this page: http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/externalaccount.bml --I wonder if it doesn't like all browsers/OSes/etc? Though I dunno why that would be true as it's just a link. Oh, but it also checks for changes to settings, huh?

I'm Firefox (current--3.0.8), XP SP 3, in case that's relevant.

same here -- well, not exactly the same; when i click the "add new account" button, it tells me "You have successfully saved your account settings." but it does indeed not do anything else.

going to http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/externalaccount.bml works.

ETA: and the actual crossposting to LJ did work fine. i got no notification (which it said it would give me). the html looks a little different, and i will test a few things hereafter to see what happens) -- great job for an alpha release! thanks!

This happens for me too. The page reloads as if it is going to do something, but nothing happens. There is no text box or anything, just the "Add account" button.

Opera 9.64, Vista home premium 32bit edition.

Same issue, except with an old browser - IE 6. However, as [personal profile] sashajwolf mentions below, going directly to the link works.

Ugh. Yeah, IE and Opera handle that button tag differently. Thanks for pointing that out.

IDK if you've already attempted to fix it, but if so, Opera (on Linux/Kubuntu) is still not handling it, although it works fine in Firefox.

Just by way of additional data, the button works in Google Chrome.
