Importer status
At this point, imports are running almost as soon as you submit them, and we've gotten through more or less the entire backlog (barring a few large community imports that need some extra babysitting). We've contacted several people whose imports have been failing to let them know what the problem was, and how they can fix it. If we didn't contact you, but you've tried importing your journal or community and gotten failures more than 10 times since 10 Mar, either let us know here (with the account name and any error messages you've gotten) or by email at support@dreamwidth.org and we'll look into it further!

So THANK YOU for everything you've done to rescue my LiveJournal from the Oligarchy. Maybe nothing bad will happen to it, but I just can't stand the idea of keeping a paid account there any more.
Now I just have to figure out how to get my CSS to work here, as the style it's built on doesn't seem to be available and I have been searching for stylesheet templates so I can find one that will do what I want. (Then all I have to do is plug in my graphic paths.)

FINALLY went and made a backup account for my old LJ, which I've been meaning to do for years. Had to do some shenanigans on the LJ side because apparently they make you change passwords now if you haven't logged in for uh... almost a decade actually... but other than that it worked super well! :D The only thing I was hoping for but yez didn't get was my inactive icons, which I'm guessing you just simply CAN'T get, which is totally fair!
Anyway, bought a paid account for said backup account even though I won't actually use it as anything but a backup, as a thank you as much as anything! :D Thanks for keeping the importer working so well!!! :D :D :D

I don't suppose you know if you upload the icon here with the same keywords, will it magically sub it in where appropriate? It's fine either way, of course, just curious as much as anything.

I'm trying to import a community from https://potsreotizm-new.livejournal.com/ to https://potsreotizm-new.dreamwidth.org/ with a special technical account under my control -- NyldraethShade.
Posts: successful!
Comments: failure. Error fetching metadata.
In the last few days, all of the several attempts have been unsuccessful. Only the posts.
I do not insist, but if you can help, it would be very good. Thank you!

"Your comments have failed to import and will not be retried.
FATAL: Comment has no remote ID! Aborting!"
Not doing anything myself, just waiting.

As far as I can tell, the comments were moved completely yesterday! I checked selectively, and by the counter in profile. Thank you very much, you made it!

Looks like it worked this time!

Glad that it worked this time! I still have no idea how your previous job got into the state it got into, lol.

It's fine, I was sure it would get sorted eventually. I probably should have said something sooner, but I had no idea how long it was supposed to take. I'm amazed it happened so quickly second time.
Your systems have been juggling so many imports recently it's not surprising if an occasional notification vanishes into the wilderness, but I'm all imported now, so I'm happy. Hopefully your workload will ease up a bit soon. You've all gone above and beyond for us, getting so much importing done in such a short time. It's seriously appreciated. Thank you.
