Credit card processing back up, thru Stripe

Hi all,

First, apologies for the payments downtime in the past few days. We're still working on sorting out the root cause with our merchant bank (who apparently got acquired and lost some paperwork), but in the meantime we've integrated with Stripe and are able to accept payments again.

The flow will look at a little different than you're used to, because it will redirect you to a Dreamwidth branded Stripe checkout page, but afterwards you'll end up back on DW and the order will be processed like normal.

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions -- this integration was a little rushed, so if there are any rough edges, I'm sorry (and definitely let me know).

Thanks again for your patience while we sorted this out :)

Completely understandable! I'm at least glad I managed to get it to work on a different browser, even if it's a browser I no longer use. My laptop works under Windows Vista which is pretty obsolete and won't allow most things to update to current versions, and this is something I can't fix without putting a lot of money into said laptop to replace my OS (the whole thing needs fixing or outright replacing actually).

I at least thank you guys for all your hard work and effort in trying to fix this whole nightmare of an issue. Us on the Dreamwidth roleplay side of things appreciate it. ♥

Outdated OS Solidarity. My laptop runs Windows XP.

OMG I miss XP! I think my Dell desktop does too, actually. But it's not the computer I use (have no monitor at present and another computer is hooked up to the TV) so can't verify.

*thumbs-up* I still have a desktop that runs XP (as well as one that runs Windows 7 - I refused to touch Vista) - there are a few games I like that don't run all that well on anything later (gotta love 256 colors - I wish The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain didn't need it!). And while I run Linux Mint on my two main computers (yes, I have like four computers, and that doesn't count the ancient laptops that don't run), one of them is running a version of Linux Mint that hasn't been supported for a couple years, because a font I rely on for some products I sell online displays incorrectly in every other OS I've tried, including all Windows and later versions of Linux. Go figure.

I kept using one particular chat client for about seven years past its end-of-life because every other chat client I tried was sufficiently wrong, UI-wise, to set the back of my brain twitching. I have deep sympathy.

Oh, that's just the beginning. I used Trillian 3 until AIM dropped support for it, I still use iTunes 6 because once it tried to update and I hated the UI changes in 7, and I still use Flash 5 as a vector art program because I didn't like the UI of Flash MX.

I got stuck with Vista when I bought a refurbished laptop once. It was surprisingly okay once I changed the security settings but then the laptop sputtered and died like nine months later from an undetected hardware problem.

I totally understand, as someone who also resists updating anything until there's a major security issue or I get a new computer!

I haven't been able to reproduce this, so I'm really not sure what's causing it. I'm sorry :( At least you know that you can use another browser!
