We've finally identified the problem our processor is having! (We think.) Jury is still out on how long it would take to fix, but this whole process has highlighted a lot of the annoying things about our current processor that we've just been living with for the past 10 years because we didn't want to make any changes if it wasn't totally broken.
Since it is broken, and risk evaluation has changed various ways over the last 10 years of progress in the online payment ecosystem, we're going to be giving a service that exists a little more in the 21st century a try. We hope to have it up and running by the weekend. We'll continue keeping you posted!

But thanks for keeping us informed. It makes the place feel less faceless.

(It could have explained another unfortunate service outage, much more local, though.)

Ha! No, different provider, but I'm not surprised there's an issue elsewhere as well. The state of online payments is less dreadful than it was 10 years ago, but it's still pretty dreadful.

Not that "let's not fix ANYTHING" is a problem where I work or anything. GRRR

(I am not in the least bit surprised that Mark won the race this time. I am not wholly convinced our payment processor and merchant bank know what the internet is.)
