We will be performing tonight's code push in a few minutes. There'll be a brief downtime, but not longer than a few minutes. (Ideally, that is.)

I'll update this entry when we're back, and people can report issues here.

We're currently having an issue with the image proxy for accessing the site via HTTPS -- images are currently failing to load. We'll have that fixed as soon as we can.

1. Images hosted on imgur and posted to DW. Not showing, broken links.
2. Links to AO3 user names. All links broken.
3. Links to tumblr user names. All links also broken.

Thanks for the heads up! That's a manifestation of the problem we found above, and like that problem, it'll be fixed as soon as the people who can fix it are neither awake nor on an airplane. :)

Aw, thanks. It's helped along by the fact that i have the worst sleep disorder any of my doctors have ever seen, so my personal 'day' is between 30 and 36 hours long depending on a variety of factors including moon phase, magnetic fields, and whether the Dow is rising or falling. So I usually have time to answer comments while everyone else is sleeping.

(We've been at this conference since Tuesday and I'm clinging to a 24 hour schedule by the skin of my teeth, dammit.)

BTW, I love your userpic -- I need to replay those games. It's been years.

Noticed that when you switch to rich text format while trying to write a new journal entry, the drop menu for font options stays hidden and you can't click into the box to write anymore. When you try to switch back to html, it refuses (although if you refresh the page, it will default back to html format).

I'm somehow not surprised -- the rich text editor is very very old (I think it dates back to 2004 or so) and newer versions of browsers sometimes choke on it. We'll take a look and see if there's anything incredibly obvious we can fix, but I'm afraid more detailed troubleshooting isn't necessarily something we can do at this point. (We are in the process of developing a new one!)

Ages ago I changed the colour of my journal and the line with the links has gone back to grey.

Do I change it back myself or is it something that you need to know about?

We made some changes to increase accessibility on the layout you're using, so there are new color settings you can set for those areas! Unfortunately we couldn't copy over the existing colors for people with custom color, so you'll have to do it yourself. Sorry about that!

Search is being a little weird for me. If I put some words in quotations, after I search, it changes the quotations to "& quot ;" (without the spaces). Doesn't effect the actual search results though.

ETA: And if you hit "more results", it adds "& amp ;" on top of that. Each time you hit more results, it adds another one. Weird.

I see notifications were an issue with this. Is that still being the case?

I sent a PM a short while ago--CC'ed to myself--and it still isn't showing up anywhere on my end: not in my email, my inbox, or even my sent messages folder. This concerns me a little. (DW claims the message was successfully sent to the recipient, but I want the CC as proof, please...)

ETA that I may well not be getting comments notifs either, like the commenters below. I just wouldn't know it, because I don't get a lot of comments anyway.

The delayed comment notifications are due to the news post having been posted -- usually it was a 1-2 hour delay, this time it's proven longer. It'll clear up over time, and we'll look at why the delay was so long this time.

Hi! I've been having problems with comment notifications - they're not appearing anywhere. They're not being sent to my email nor are they appearing in my inbox. I've had to manually refresh any threads that I've got to see whether there's any new comments, which ain't great.

Also, is there some sort of server status page for DW beside http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/? Or do I just have to keep an eye on dw_maintenance and the twitter?

dw_maintenance (onsite) and the Twitter account (offsite) function as server status -- we update them with any unforseen issues.

I was getting most of my notifs last night and today, but I've noticed that as of the last hour or two, I'm missing random ones (or the ones that have come in).

This and this notif neither came in my gmail, nor was sent to my DW Inbox. I haven't checked the rest of my accounts yet, but I'm hearing from others that this is a thing. I'm curious why there's a notif issue almost 24 hours after the push and if we'll get a dump of notifs at some point, or if they're all lost forever.

Edit: I'm just realizing that I doubt you guys are getting notifs for this and I'm laughing while crying.

Ditto with the no notifications problem above: nothing in my email for any account, nothing in my site inbox either. The latest sit inbox notice I've got came in about 8 hours ago, but I *do* have the email announcement from the 26th, I just got it at 1 AM on the 27th (about two hours ago). Nothing else.

Yeah, as the news post mentions, news posts cause a notification delay because of the number of notifications that need to be sent out of the announcement. I said in the post it would probably be 1-2 hours, but the new email sending method has proven to be slower than the old one when it comes to chewing through those emails, so it's proving much longer. Sorry if you're already aware of this--I saw upstream that you've fixed some problem with OpenID, but I'm still having issues with it. When I try to log in with OpenID, I get this message:

I've seen a lot of people commenting that they aren't getting notifications... but has anyone else's inbox been completely erased? Both my inbox and my sent items have been completely cleared of everything.

Is this related? Is it fixable? Or am I just gunna have to start over?

That's really weird. Are you sure you didn't hit the 'delete all' button?

Your search currently can't handle quoted search terms. If you correct the andquots to actual quote marks and press search again it will return results properly, but you can't get a second page of results because it will go back to searching for andquots.

We don't know of any problems that are affecting everyone, so it's likely to be an account-specific problem that will need some troubleshooting. Please open a support request with as much detail as you can: what you're trying to do, what happens when you do it, and any error messages you receive.
