Code updates, importer fixes

We've been pushing some code this weekend, if you weren't aware. There's a lot of stuff going on. But hopefully you will be running into fewer bugs now! There are still some outstanding patches for the crossposter that aren't in yet, so hang tight on that.

We have fixed (hopefully! needs testing!) the importer for people who have used a mass privacy editor on their journals. We've also fixed (again, needs testing) the ability to import entries and comments from multiple sources. (I.e., from both of your IJs, all six of your LJs, and the partridge in yonder pear tree.)

So in short: try out the importer! If you have problems, open a support request and I will dig into it.

...

In actual maintenance announcements, I will be performing some downtime-required maintenance on the site sometime today. I'm not going to put a time on this notice, since I'm not sure when it will happen. (I have some other things to finish first and it's a bit hectic around here.)

The FAQ regarding 'How can I cross-post entries?' says I should be able to configure up to five accounts for cross-posting. I've configured my LJ account but there's no way for me to add anymore; i.e. no button, drop down menu, etc.

Go to http://www.dreamwidth.org/misc/beta.bml and set your account level to premium paid. That will let you configure more accounts. (At least, until tomorrow when open beta hits and the account levels get set back.)

It worked! For about a second, then the page updated after the open beta hit :-) Thanks for letting me know; I'll remember that for the future (hopefully).

Imported three other LJs into the one I'd already imported a couple weeks ago. Worked like a charm. :)

You guys are doing a fabulous job.

we can haz my headmate!'s entries here? Seriously?

oh gods you are so made of M<333333. :)

Craimar'll love you for this. He was so afraid of losing a lot of his stuff... and having to make a new account here hasn't really crossed his mind yet, ya know?

Importer worked awesomely! Well, I now have double posts for the last month or so, but who cares! Good job!

Problem with importing comments

[personal profile] box_in_the_box 2009-05-01 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I appreciate the work you all have done, especially with regard to allowing us to import the contents of our LJs, but I seem to be running into a problem.

I've imported the contents of my LJ twice now, and while all the entries have imported successfully - although, for some reason, all of the YouTube videos have been stripped out of all my posts - none of the comments have been imported, even though it continues to tell me "All your journal comments have been imported successfully."

Is this a problem on my end, or on your end? Please advise.
