Update on the importer

As you may have noticed, we are experiencing some issues with importing comments from LiveJournal. They made some changes to their code, which broke the way our importer retrieves comments. Mark knows what is wrong, and is working on it. Unfortunately, it's going to be a day or two before it's fixed.

For right now, hold tight and don't retry your import. Once it's fixed, someone will post here and then you can try again. Thank you for your patience!

Any connection between this and OpenID problems? I opened a support request because the Social Login plugin on my Wordpress site was unable to log in a Dreamwidth user (i.e., me) via OpenID. I want to make sure that DreamWidth users can log in via OpenID before I move over here from LJ.

Unfortunately, a connection is unlikely. OpenID has always been a little glitchy, but we're looking into it.

Hmmm it looks like that is trying to do OpenID 2.0. I thought that worked but perhaps not. Let me poke exor674 and see if she has a better idea than me!

Yep, seems to be OpenID 2.0 -- I wonder if it's choking on the identifier: http://specs.openid.net/auth/2.0/identifier_select ( instead of sending http://exor674.dreamwidth.org/ or whatever ) -- that or we never actually finished OpenID 2.0 -- I've not been following that project.
