Code push: Saturday, June 27th, 4pm Pacific / 11pm UTC
Hi all,
We're planning on doing a code push this Saturday! If you're curious about what's changing, please check out the Code Tour: https://dw-dev.dreamwidth.org/222909.html
Important note: this code push includes some visual changes (continuing our efforts to modernize common workflows) and also includes some conversions of old pages to be generated in a different way with different markup. As always, we've tested the changes in most of the major browsers and use cases, but some things may break when they meet real-world usage and different technical setups. If we broke it, we'll fix it as soon as we can.
We'll post again and update dreamwidth when the process is underway.
Thanks!

Thank you for perking it up either way, though!

Anyway, I think we probably need to keep the WIP comment front-and-center, since it's kind of the whole raison d'être of the page. There might be ways to do that AND make the layout feel more like a comment thread or a reply page, but they'll need careful consideration. (For example:
So, I guess we'll mull those over, see if anything pops out as a winner.

Would need to handle the no-javascript case too — the two options I see are to:
• Leave it fully expanded, pushing the preview you care most about way down the page. Bleah.
• Use a different order of content — no-JS folks get today's order, with the preview on top. Also somewhat bleah, just because it's inconsistent.

It used to be that if you clicked on an individual thread (so the url looked something like this: https://dw-maintenance.dreamwidth.org/82644.html?thread=3297492#cmt3297492) and you used the preview page while replying to it, you'd be taken back to that individual thread once your comment was posted. Now, using the preview function when commenting takes you back to the entry itself rather than the thread. (Posting a comment without using the preview function still takes you back to the individual thread, as before.)
Very minor thing, I know! It's just a bit jarring when responding to an entry with lots of threads and/or very long threads.
