Code has been pushed!

Hiya, as per yesterday's announcement, the latest Dreamwidth code has been deployed.

This is the issue/bug/problem tracking post! Please let us know if you see anything... untoward.

Fixed

  • Posting an entry would tell you that your password was blank.
  • API key generation/deletion was... behaving a little weird.
  • Profiles pages were converted to Markdown, but this was too soon. I've put them back to raw HTML, they should look like they did before the push!

Known Issues

  • Chrome auto-filling in password forms, when trying to post as the already logged in user, results in an error. Still haven't fixed this one, but we will.
  • Reports of logging out possibly not? Need more information, login/logout work for me. Seems transient?

And as a reminder, if you use Semagic et al, please check the link above for information on how to configure it to keep working with Dreamwidth!

We'll look at this and see if it's something we can fix easily, but a caveat: the RTE in that version of the update page is very old, held together with duct tape and baling wire with a little bit of spit for good measure, and sometimes breaks badly in modern browsers. (We're working on a newer version for our beta create entries page so we can get it out of beta, but haven't been able to finish it yet.) There's a chance we might not be able to fix the old version if it's a more complex problem. (It's still working in Firefox and Safari from what I've been told, and we didn't change anything that should have affected it, so there's a chance the timing was coincidental and it was actually a browser update that broke it.)

Eep... I tried copy-and-paste an html version from SeaMonkey composer page, and got very strange results. Then I said, what the heck, and went ahead and pasted the plain text into the editing window, as if it was the Rich Text Editor. Posted, and... it seemed to work. I thought when I clicked on the Rich Text Editor tab, it put up the tool bar? It's not doing that now, but it actually does seem to work. As Spock would say, "Fascinating." It looks as if I actually had the RTE, I just didn't know it.

It's not working for me in either Firefox 75 or Chrome.
