We just did a rather large code update, with something like 50 separate commits... that's a lot. This should fix a lot of issues we've been seeing.

We do -- or rather, we are supposed to. I use my username @dreamwidth.org all the time, it's my primary mail!

However, if you got your paid account at the very beginning, there's a chance it's not setup right. You can fix it by going to the console:

http://www.dreamwidth.org/admin/console/

And type:

set no_mail_alias 0

That will force it to be turned on for your account. And that reminds me I should go through and write a script to make sure it's on for all paid accounts...

Ok, I did what you said.

But now I'm not even getting a bounce-back. I'm getting nothing at all. The mail is out there somewhere. I'm getting comments in a pretty timely manner based on my inbox and the time stamp of the comment in journals.

But the mail ... *makes fluttery mysterio hands*

Try an explict toggle:

set no_mail_alias 1

Save, then:

set no_mail_alias 0

"Save" just means "click the button to run the command."

And anyway, that's not the problem here. The problem is you emailed yourself, and you use Gmail. Gmail has one of those helpful features where it eats email you send yourself -- so you only have one copy, the one you sent (not the one you received).

Ooh, thanks for that! Means I can have the *@dreamwidth.org e-mail showing on my profile now.

Is there a way to make it send e-mails to that address in plain text? I have comments coming in that way (rather than HTML) but an e-mail to myself @DW came as HTML.

It's a forwarding address, it sends you exactly what it gets. If you send it HTML mail, it will send you HTML mail. There's no ability to change that.
