I am having difficulties and not getting notifications. I can work around it, but I do love that feature when it's working. :D Thanks for being on top of things around here!
just to let you know, i'm not getting the notifications in my dw inbox either. that was one of the things that was confusing me when the crosspost wasn't working.
If it helps, I just noticed that after editing an entry that had crossposting checked on, the edit has crossposting unchecked (not by me). I didn't think it was normally set to do this, but it wasn't a big deal (not a public post) so I didn't care much.
I have no firsthand knowledge of the coding or anything like that, but I've been crossposting for a couple of years now and that's definitely been my experience.
On the notification settings page under "My Account" is an item called "An attempt to crosspost an entry fails" which is forced to on (to the messages inbox) and can be also forwarded to the account's registered email by checking the checkbox to the right.
Thank you for the update! I haven't been able to crosspost either, and I had mine set to default. Also, for some reason, the crosspost button was unchecked.
We're also having trouble with crossposting to Insanejournal, too. But it seems to be sporadic and weird.
One of our posts from yesterday didn't post at the time, but we woke up to notifications that it had c/p'ed while we slept. And, when we checked, the post was showing up on both LJ and IJ. The other post from yesterday didn't c/p at all.
The post we just made about half an hour ago posted normally to both LJ and IJ and we didn't get a notification in our inbox that it had posted. (We have inbox notifications set for both successful c/p's and failed ones.)
Yeah, with the system backed up from crossposts to LJ not going through, crossposts to other sites are likely to be slow and notifications delayed as well. I'll edit the post to make that clearer.
If it helps at all, I've been having trouble posting to both sites at once with Semagic as well. I'll be logged in to DW and try to post to both, so it seems like something on LJ's end if neither platform is working.
it's now crossposting, most of the times, but I tried importing, and the comments(just the comments) aren't importing. please look into it as well. and thanks for all the work you do!
