Code push beginning

We are now beginning our code push. The site will be down for a few minutes during the process. (And when it comes back up, we will have the new update page beta omg omg omg.)

At the bottom of my reading page I get this notice:

"There are no earlier entries to display. This page displays only the most recent 1000 entries posted within the last 14 days"

Why is that? How can I see earlier entries?

That's a site-wide limitation -- the reading page is one of the most resource-intensive pieces of code the site has, so it will only display recent posts and only display a certain number of posts. (LJ has the same restriction; it's just less common for people who've been using the site for a while to hit it.)

For earlier entries, you can visit journals directly! Sorry about the confusion.
