Site search available once more
For those who have been missing it over the last few weeks, the site search functionality is now working again. (Technically it's been working for a few days, but we had to let it get caught up with all the entries it missed indexing while the machine that powers searching was being used as a temporary webserver. I believe the re-indexing is finished now, but there might be a few things not re-indexed yet; if there are, they'll get caught up over the next few days.)
Thank you all for your remarkable patience with us these past few weeks as we've worked to address these issues with site performance! And thank you all, also, for your comments of support and encouragement. When one is wrangling problems, it's awfully nice to hear all those comments cheering us on. Y'all really are the best users a site owner could ask for!

Just last night, I was wondering when we'd get it back as I went to search and then remembered I couldn't.

Right now it does seem that some people are getting errors importing from LJ due to a change LJ has made that's causing problems with their export function (if the error message you get involves something to do with "can't fetch anum for post" or something like that, it's due to that problem). That, unfortunately, is something we can't fix, and you'll have to take it up with LJ.
If it's any other problem, and the message in your inbox doesn't clear it up for you, you can open a support request.

I'm...not sure what that means...*embarrassed*
