O Kindest of Kind Sirs,

1.) Nope, not possible to merge two journals. I remember we had a suggestion about it, but I don't remember whether it was migrated or rejected

2.) (Assuming no merge): If you rename A (username: apple) to B (username:banana), your user A will now have the username banana, but will still retain all the friends from when they were called apple.

B will be called ex_banana123, and will retain all friends from when they were banana.

(There are options to break the ties, but to keep things simple...)

(Testing to see whether reply-by-mail is working from Thunderbird now, as the thought occurs to me...)

*nods* IIRC, Thunderbird is one of the mail applications which doesn't allow POSTs to be done from within an email, and strips those out as a security measure.
