We are trying so, so fucking hard to keep our spam prevention methods from impacting legitimate VPN use. I know it's deeply annoying, and it's just as annoying for us -- like, if we could just say "nope, we are blocking access to the site from every single IP address that has a score over a certain threshold in two separate abusive-IPs databases", it would make our lives so much easier, but a massive number of the IPs that are in those abusive-IPs databases are VPN IPs and that would have a tremendous amount of splash damage, so we'll never be able to do it. But yeah, the experience of using a VPN service that has a high percentage of customers generating abusive traffic is likely going to get worse and worse for you over time, because it's a massive internet-wide problem, it's getting much worse, and nobody knows how to solve it without seriously inconveniencing or blocking the people who are using VPNs for legitimate reasons. It sucks, and I'm really sorry. (I like to joke that I am an internet privacy and anonymity activist except for the four hours a day I'm doing the spam queue, during which I would like to require internet connections to be tied to your forensic DNA profile and require an on-the-spot DNA test to activate the internet connection every time you do. Some days it is less of a joke than other days, sigh.)
