No, no, that was just an example, don't worry! We test with JS off as a rule of thumb. (The new fullscreen comment reply quoting the original comment is an example: we actually did a lot of invisible work so that people without JS don't have to do a bunch of scrolling past the comment you're replying to.)

Probably a not-supported-browser issue again, then, which means there's at least a hope of badgering the devs at my end to take another look at their CSS handling, rather than the text box being hardwired small... Link to screenshot on my website
