Ugh. A few people have reported the same thing -- we're not sure what's causing it yet, unfortunately. Until we can figure out (and fix) the cause, may I suggest filtering to the "Site Notices" filter in the left hand sidebar of the inbox, then hitting the "Delete all in subfolder" button up top? That should clear them out for you, at least!
