Hm, what browser are you using?

Firefox; I also have Ghostery added. It doesn't seem to be blocking anything on DW though.

If you click on the warning, does it give you any more details?

Yes, it gives a standard warning: "Your connection to this site is not private. Information you submit could be viewed by others (like passwords, messages, credit cards, etc.)."

Yeah, that's weird. What do you get if you go here: https://www.dreamwidth.org -- same result?

I'll check when I get home -- getting a normal security lock both here and on the link from Waterfox at work. Might be having a problem on the home computer.

Yeah, my gut sense is that your home browser isn't properly recognizing the certificate, but I'm not a SSL expert :) Are you using the most recent version of the browser?

Firefox does this. The red line/open lock means mixed secure/insecure content, and probably won't be preventable on DW where users can post content that originates from a non-secure connection (but in re-reading the comment after replying, I'm not sure that should happen on log-in though I do see it on Reading pages that have mixed content. So now I want to log out and log back in just to see if it happens for me there, too, since I can honestly say I've paid no attention before this).

ETA: Just logged out/logged back in from dreamwidth.org (using Firefox); green icons all the way. But I forgot you can log in/out from any page on DW with a navstrip which might explain a mixed content warning showing up after log-in (I use the navstrip so infrequently that I totally forgot we can do that.)
Edited (re-read comment replied to, added an eta after logging out/back in) 2017-02-15 05:03 (UTC)
