Huh... A "modules" link has appeared in the header of all my journal pages, which jumps to the bottom of the page. I would rather not have this there in my layout. Is there a way to get rid of it?

Was the navstrip fix supposed to clump everything together to the left? Because that's what I'm seeing.

Hee, I noticed that too, and wound up staring at it for like five minutes wondering what was different about it.

The navstrip was changed around a bit so that it scales down better on small screens (part of our general fixes to make the site behave better on mobile devices). Part of that does mean that it's no longer stretched out quite so far on larger screens, yeah -- it was a compromise.

Same here, and its pushed my sidebar down.

It's part of the changes we made to make things work a bit more gracefully on smaller screens (part of our ongoing attempts to make the site behave better on mobile devices) -- the link to the modules will display in one-column mode. It shouldn't be triggering over a certain width, though;

I do use a smaller screen resolution than most people, but that's on a laptop, so I don't know from mobile-device issues. I just know the link is of no use to me, and I'm fairly OCD about unnecessary things intruding on the look of pages when I've got them how I want them. :Þ (I.e., I realize this is a small thing, but it bothers the heck out of me anyway.)

If it's supposed to be triggered by width, there's something going on with it for sure. My screen is extremely wide. It doesn't just appear in my headers though, it's appeared off to the side, halfway down the screen as well, including several random places.

Yes, see above: we made some changes to the structure of the navstrip so it degrades more gracefully on smaller screens, and part of that change means that the center cell is no longer so stretched out on wider ones.

For what its worth, I'm not seeing the clumping issue and I'm on a 17" laptop.

I'm also not seeing the module link that's being talked about above, but that could be because I have a really old journal style from around 2010.

Awfully sorry, but I'm still seeing it on my good old desktop.

If you've got it where it's going to show up on 800x600 resolution, then please, PLEASE do something to make it optional.

Hm, that runs off your browser's default font size, so you've probably got your default font size set very low. Check your browser settings to see what it's set at?

Yes, not all of the system styles have been changed over yet -- we did the ones that are children of our base style Tabula Rasa first, but there are a few that aren't related to it.

I'm still seeing it, unfortunately. :/ I've cleared the cache and done a few hard refreshes.

Crud, hit enter too soon. I meant to ask, due to the recent code change might there be a lag between implementing a fix and it showing up?

We do ask that people avoid making negative comments about LJ in comments to our official journals! (And as it happens, "make the site work better on my mobile device" is perhaps the #1 thing people request from us most frequently.)

We'll look into why it's still displaying at larger widths.

I've now tried doing that, as well as restarting the computer (+on another computer and browser) but it's still showing. My screen is over 1680x1050, so it really shouldn't be showing at that size.

No, the fix should take effect immediately; we're trying to figure out why it hasn't :P
