Code update

Hi,

I've just done a code update for the site. This has temporarily broken some styles using the deprecated core1. afuna is putting together a fix now which I will get live as soon as it's checked in.

(Of course, those of you who have a broken style probably can't see this... oh well!)

Fixed. As always, if you see problems, let us know. Sorry for the trouble!

Um, my style (Negatives Black) seems to not be displaying all my tags in the tags list, and also has a random "previous 20" button right in the middle of the tag list.

May not have anything to do with the style-breakage, 'cause I just imported my Livejournal and it has not gone entirely smoothly!

The styles team knows about the random "previous 20" link, and are working on it! (Don't know about the tags, though, sorry!)

Only your top 50 tags are displayed on Negatives, afaik. Is that about how many you have showing?

I've seen an issue on the right-hand side bar over the last few days, with the "* Previous 20" appearing not only at the top of the column, but also mid-way through the tags as an overlay. Happens on both my OpenID reading account and on this one (with a full import yesterday which went fine)

Not sure if this is connected, but I have been embedding videos and have random embed codes showing up which adds a lot of space between video and text.

This could be because I'm just pasting the code and not using the 'embed video' button, but in one case I had a stream of about 6 site-embed id's around a video. You can see a not-as-bad example happening here:

This isn't really a problem, but more of an FYI regarding importing journals and displayed profile information:

I imported over 3000 entries to Dreamwidth (which pretty much worked like a charm); however, on my profile, it says I only have 2 entries (which is correct in that I've only posted two original entries to DW).

I just thought it might be something that merited a thought or two.

I apologize for duplicating information if you already know this!

Hi! I don't know if this is related or not, but a few days ago I set up an edited version of Negatives that compiled and was working just fine, but today when I tried to edit a line of the css to add the following:

.entry-interaction-links ul {list-style-type: none;}

it wouldn't compile. I took out the line I added, and it still wouldn't compile. First it choked on

Compile error: line 86, column 1: Can't set non-existent property 'text_interaction_links_sep'

which is a line that was in the original, but I tried taking it out and then it choked on something else. I decided at that point to stop trying and just keep using the style as-is. The style works, I just can't edit it anymore, and I don't understand code well enough to troubleshoot it.

I'm not looking for y'all to fix this, by the way, I'm just sharing 'cause I wasn't sure whether it was related, and if so, if it might be useful information for you to have.

I'm a bit dense about this stuff and this maybe this is an only-me issue,
but on my Reading Page, under my icon & link, I've just noticed I have a subscribe to self and PM to self option (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/alyknight/dw.jpg)
As I'm using the Reading Page to see other people, I really don't see the point?

It's part of Negatives style for your journal so to turn it off, go to here: http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/options.bml?group=modules. Next to Basic Journal Info, select "none" to disable the module.

Hey guys, I think this changed after this update. I'm using a custom style in core1, though I've disabled the customized comment pages. The 'default' comment page looks a little off now: the comment information is now below the userpics, instead of the info being to the right of the pics. See.

And thanks so much for all the work you're doing on DW. ♥ It's awesome watching it all come together.

You can change the number of tags to show at http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/options.bml?group=modules. (And we'll be changing the title of the module as well to make it clear that it's only the most popular tags)

We've been removing a few things that we put in earlier, but then stopped using because we went in another direction. Drop by the dw-styles entry, for more info. We'll try to provide information to help people who were experimenting.

(But I suggest waiting a couple more days before editing again, since we probably won't be stabilized until April 15).

When you go to it, there's a black vertical line running through the page on the left third area. I think it's due to the formatting of the sidebar? Is this due to the user's layout choice or an issue with dreamwidth?

Hmm, if you're referring to the vertical line running to the right of the date of each entry, I think that's deliberate in the user's layout.

okay, I've scrolled through the comments (as far as I could go) and I didn't see this mentioned: when (in Negatives Black style) I am on the comments page I can not scroll through all the comments. I have to hit F11 to get any further and I still have no way to scroll further down. This isn't a problem in the other style. I'm using a FireFox browser.
