I did read your first phrase as "Imports are addictive" *g*. Mild dyslexia strikes again (it's not severe enough to be a problem, just causes some "did it really say that?" moments).
Recognising duplicate entries by content from different journals would be an interesting trick, especially since some xposting clients (and some people) add a little "crossposted to" tag in the text. The only way I could see doing it would be a report (by email probably) pointing out that the post is similar and would you like to delete one of them? An interesting idea, but I wouldn't put much priority on it.
