Comment import from LJ temporarily not working

We've received a few reports of comment importing from LiveJournal not currently working, and upon investigating further, it appears that LJ's comment export function (which is how our importer gets the data) is currently returning no data. It's been reported to LJ, so I'm sure they'll fix it as soon as they possibly can, but in the meantime, any attempt to import your comments from LJ will fail (since the data isn't available). We'll post again when we know it's working again.

Yeah, there's a few support requests open for it on their end. I'm betting it was an accidental breakage that they just missed in testing, and I'm sure it'll be fixed quickly!

Getting a sudden influx of new users? I'm one, and my Beloved will be soon as well. The thought of a slightly mysterious company (SUP, in Moscow) having control over my blog has always been a bit nerve-wracking, but knowing that they don't quite grok the concept of regression testing is just a bit too much. So here I am, with my LJ entries imported (though not my comments, of course!) and I think I like it...

It's a genuine mistake, I'm sure! I'd hate to cast aspersions over something like that (especially since the export function is fairly obscure, and certainly not the first thing someone would think to test) -- we've certainly had screwups just as big. *g*

It seems to be fixed now; both LJarchive and comment importing from LJ to Dreamwidth worked fine for me this evening.
